COIL MANUFACTURING
Motion Electric manufactures and supplies formed coils to the electric motor and generator repair market. In our fully equipped coil manufacturing facility we have the capabilities to produce formed coils and high voltage stator bars for machines rated up to 13.8kV.
We manufacture coils that are compatible to both Resin Rich and VPI insulation systems. Hot-pressed Resin-Rich coils are insulated with premium quality mica tape which is impregnated with a B-stage epoxy resin. Hot pressing the coils activates the resin which then bonds the conductor strands to ensure a homogenous and well sealed coil. Motion Electric also provides dry mica and Nomex insulation systems that are compatible with VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) processing.
Motion Electric can supply formed coils for the following applications:

- Concentric coils where available space for endwinding projection is limited
- Push-through coils for closed stator slot designs
- Rotor coils for wound rotor induction motors
- Turbo generator stator bars (half coils) having transposed conductors or Roebel transpositions
- Stator coils or half bars for large hydroelectric generators
